Chesterfield man among 3 killed in Sussex County crash

SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. — Police are investigating after a multi-vehicle accident left a local man and two others dead in Sussex County early Sunday morning.

The accident occurred on Route 460 near Walnut Hill Road just after 3 a.m. and involved a 2013 Kia Soul, a Honda Accord and a 2008 Toyota Scion.

The driver of the Kia, identified as 30-year-old Christy Nicole Allen of Emporia, succumbed to her injuries at Southside Regional Medical Center.  Her passenger, 28-year-old Roquisha Shonta Broady of Emporia, died upon impact.

The passenger of the Accord, identified as 25-year-old Dequincy Lamar Jackson of South Chesterfield, also died upon impact. The driver of the vehicle suffered major injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Scion sustained minor injuries in the crash.

None of the three victims who were killed were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Police say alcohol was a contributing factor to the crash.
