RICHMOND, Va. -- Police have given an "all-clear" after a suspicious package was found outside the YMCA located in downtown Richmond.
Investigators said at 6:30 p.m., they received a call for a package outside of the YMCA, located at 2 W Franklin Street.
Upon arrival, officers evacuated the building and relocated the people to the Jefferson Hotel nearby. Traffic on East Franklin was also blocked off while officials investigated.
When Virginia State Police Bomb Squad, they secured the suspicious package, x-rayed it and determined it wasn't an explosive.
The package was actually someone's personal belongings. Police said that person showed up to claim it as police gave the "all-clear."
The scene was cleared around 9 p.m. Tuesday. East Franklin Street has been reopened.
