RICHMOND, Va. — Two people gained access to a Richmond apartment building, tried on clothes taken from packages, and spent the night the building’s mailroom, according to Richmond Police.

The November 23 incident started when a man and woman followed a tenant into the Cedar Street apartment in Richmond’s Union Hill.

“The tenant then gave the two suspects access to a mailroom where several packages were stored. It is believed the tenant may have believed the suspects were also tenants of the building,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said. “While in the mailroom, the couple opened several packages which contained various items of clothing. The suspects proceeded to try on the clothing and logged into the mail room computer. The suspects stayed in the mail room until 7 a.m. the following morning.”

Police described the suspects as follows:

Suspect #1 — An adult black male with medium length dreadlocks

Suspect #2 — An adult female with short, dark hair
