CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- In October, CBS 6 told viewers the story of a kindergartner from Chesterfield County who was getting a life-saving surgery because of his little brother.
Five-year-old William Shepperson was born with sickle cell anemia, a disease in which misshaped red blood cells can’t carry enough oxygen to his organs.
At the age of three, William contracted bacterial Meningitis due to his compromised immune system.

That meant, the family had to find a bone marrow transplant donor. The Sheppersons found that rare, perfect match two years ago with the birth of their son Moses.
That bone marrow transplant happened earlier this week and the family says it went perfect.
William is still recovering at VCU Medical Center. He is still in isolation and will have to stay in the hospital for a little while longer. Two-year-old Moses is back home.
CBS 6 reporter Laura French paid Moses a visit at the Shepperson’s Chesterfield home. French wanted to check up on the boys and present them with a special surprise.
French learned that William and Moses love playing the Wii at VCU Medical Center, but the floor he is now on doesn’t have one. So, CBS 6, with some help from GameStop, want to help out for the CBS 6 Month of Giving.
“Mom, the folks at GameStop heard about William and Moses’ story and the transplant and they wanted to do their part to help, because they were just so moved by their story,” said French.
The bundle included some games, an extra controller so both brothers can play, and a bunch of goodies like Legos and stuffed animals.
“fank you!” said Moses.
“You are so welcome, buddy,” said French.
Every day through December, a CBS 6 team member will surprise someone in the community with a random act of kindness.
