RICHMOND, Va. — The Manchester Bridge, along 9th Street over the James River in downtown Richmond, was partially shutdown Wednesday afternoon.
There was a person on the bridge who threatened to jump, Crime Insider sources told Jon Burkett.
“I watched the entire thing,” a witness, whose story matched Crime Insider information, said. “She was naked and appeared to be on drugs. A woman police officer provided her clothing. They eventually surrounded her and essentially hugged her to prevent her from jumping.”
The southbound lanes of the bridge were closed as police worked to resolve the situation.
There was a boat in the water on standby in case the person were to jump.
