CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. –Two suspects have been arrested and several others face charges in a police pursuit that started in Chesterfield County and ended in Richmond Saturday night.

Police say the pursuit started in the 7000 block of Midlothian Turnpike near Chippenham Parkway just after 10:15 p.m. The pursuit lasted about two minutes and ended at the intersection of Carnation Street and Hioaks Road in the city.

At that point, six suspects, including several juveniles, got out of the car and fled into the woods.

Officers were able to locate the 19-year-old driver and took him into custody without incident. He has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and eluding police.

One of the juvenile passengers was also arrested.

Police have been able to identify the other suspects who fled the scene and say they are believed to have been involved in an altercation that took place at Chesterfield Towne Center earlier that evening.

Police determined the vehicle had been stolen sometime in October, although it is unknown where it was stolen from.

The investigation is ongoing.
