Dinwiddie, Va. - Mark Fischer's team won't let him retire. At least not yet.

For the second straight week, the Louisa Lions went on the road to take on an undefeated opponent. And for the second straight week, their own undefeated record has remained in tact. This time, it was a 37-28 win at Dinwiddie to move the Lions into the Class 4 state semifinals.

Malik Bell had 287 total yards, 187 of them on the ground and two touchdown runs which staked the Lions to an early 14-0 lead.

The Generals responded with back to back touchdown passes from K'ymon Pope to Jasiah Williams, who caught 7 passes for 136 yards, tying the game at 14.

Bell also completed 7 of 11 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Job Whalen added 80 yards rushing and a score.

"It feels awesome. I'd be crazy to say it doesn't" said Fischer who announced he would be retiring at the end of the season.  "This is a fairy tale story for us. I think we were picked to finish third in our district."

Dinwiddie (12-1) was held to just 33 yards rushing as a team. In addition to Pope's 3 touchdown passes, Robert Barlow returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score.

Fischer continues to battle multiple myeloma (http://wtvr.com/2017/10/26/heart-of-the-lions-louisa-immortalizes-retiring-football-coach/) and is stepping down at the end of the season to focus on his health. But his team just won't let that season end just yet.

"I'm blessed to be around these coaches, these boys and this community" Fischer said. "For my swan song, I couldn't ask for more".

Except maybe two more wins. The Lions (13-0) will host Lafayette in next week's Class 4 state semifinal.
