Driver charged after striking disabled SUV being pushed along Route 60

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. — A woman has been charged with reckless driving after police say she struck a disabled vehicle that was being pushed by two people Thursday afternoon.

State Police said the crash happened at 2:55 p.m. on Route 60 in New Kent County, near the 9000 block of Pocahontas Trail.

Two people were pushing a disabled 1991 Ford Explorer while another person was operating the steering wheel inside the car, said police.

The Ford Explorer was struck in the rear by a 2012 Honda Civic.

The two people outside the vehicle were seriously injured in the crash. One was flown via helicopter and the other was transported via ambulance to VCU Medical Center.

There is no update on the victim’s condition, as of Friday evening.

The driver of the Honda, Karley Allen, 22, of Lanexa, has been charged with reckless driving.
