Murder arrest made after man found dead in Richmond driveway

RICHMOND, Va. — A Richmond man was arrested and charged with the murder of a man found dead in a South Richmond driveway.

Alfonzo McElroy Jr., 21, of Greenbay Road, was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

“At approximately 1:10 a.m., Friday, officers responded to the 2000 block of South Kinsley Avenue for the report of a person down,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said. “When officers arrived, they located Robert L. Walker Jr., 20, of the 4100 block of Leake Avenue deceased in a driveway from an apparent gunshot wound.”

Walker, Crime Insider sources said, was shot to death.
