HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – Four people were critically injured after a two-vehicle crash on E. Parham Road in Henrico County Wednesday evening.

Police were called to the scene of the crash, near Ackley Avenue, around 7:50 p.m.

“Initial indications are a Nissan SUV traveling westbound on Parham Rd. crossed the median into oncoming traffic and was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck nearly head on,” a Henrico police spokesperson said.

Four victims were extricated from two vehicles and transported to local hospitals with critical injuries.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation, police said.

The accident closed Parham Road in both directions between Ackley Ave. and Woodman Rd. for hours. All lanes have since reopened.
