3 people found dead in Richmond apartment, 1 person killed on street

RICHMOND, Va. -- Three people were found shot to death in a Richmond apartment and a fourth person was found shot to death on the street Sunday morning, according to Richmond Police.

Police are investigating the overnight shootings near the intersection of St Paul and West Federal Street in Richmond's Gilpin Court housing community.

All the shooting victims are adults, according to police.

Police found three adult shooting victims in an apartment along the 1200 block of St. Paul Street early Sunday morning.

About one hour later, officers heard more gunshots and found a fourth shooting victim dead about a block away on Federal Street.

At this time, detectives have not developed any information to directly connect the two shootings but are investigating to determine whether or not they are in fact related incidents.

Police have not yet released the shooting victims' names, nor information about a suspect in the crime.

"We don’t have any suspect descriptions to provide," the police spokesperson said. "There are many officers on scene that are deal to with it, investigators are here, the Homicide Team and Forensics Team they’ll all be going door-to-door to canvass the neighborhood to see what people may have seen or heard."
