5 men arrested in MARTIN’s parking lot for Chester armed robbery

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Multiple suspects were taken into police custody after an armed robbery in Chesterfield County.

The incident started Wednesday evening when a group of people said they were robbed at gunpoint along the 2700 block of Executive in Chester.

“The victims were able to provide a description of the suspect vehicle, and responding officers spotted the suspect vehicle traveling north on Jefferson Davis Highway. Officers briefly pursued the suspect vehicle, which stopped at the Bermuda Square Shopping Center, located in the 12600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway,” a Chesterfield Police spokesperson said. “The suspects were taken into custody in the parking lot without incident.”

Photos sent to the CBS 6 newsroom showed a suspect surrounded by Chesterfield Police officers with their guns drawn. The suspect, who had his hands up, surrendered to police and was arrested.

“The investigation indicates that during the robbery, the suspect vehicle stopped in front of the victims. One suspect exited the vehicle, displayed a weapon and demanded property from the victims. Another suspect exited the vehicle and took property from the victims. The victims were not injured. The suspects reentered the vehicle and fled,” police said.

The following men were arrested:

Frazier D. Tillar, 19, of Brandon Bluff Way in Richmond, was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony, driving while suspended, reckless driving and expired state inspection.

Elijah J.G. Elleby, 25, of Roane Street in Richmond, was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana.

Kevin L. Jones Jr., 23, of Jerald Street in Henrico, was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a controlled substance.

Tyeshawn Goodnight, 18, of Winston Street in Richmond, was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Jatwasean A. Pierce, 23, of Red Ash Drive in Richmond, was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
