Cherry Cobbler
Ingredients:
1 stick of unsalted butter
1 cup of whole milk
1 cup of sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (imitation can be substituted)
1 can cherry pie filling
1 Tbsp sugar in the raw
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the butter in your glass baking dish. Once melted work the butter around the entire interior of the pan (the works as the grease for the cobbler and offers a nice brown edging). Next, in a mixing bowl mix the flour and sugar. Then add the vanilla, milk and remaining butter from the baking dish and wisk it together. Once mixed, pour into the baking dish evenly. Take the cherry pie filling and evenly drop dallops over the entire mixture. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for about one hour or until edges are crispy and sprinkle with the sugar in the raw. Let it cool for about 10-15 mminutes. Serve with salted caramel, butter pecan or vanilla ice cream & enjoy.
