RICHMOND, Va. — More than 20 children are currently reported missing in Richmond by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
“Once the missing person report has been filed with police, and as long as the child is 17-years and younger, an individual with guardianship (parent, social worker etc.) or law enforcement can contact NCMEC to open a case,” National Center for Missing & Exploited Children spokesperson Erin Farrell said. “When the child has been recovered, either the guardian or law enforcement can contact NCMEC to provide recovery information and the child’s case will be changed from active status to recovered.”
