RICHMOND, Va. — The Richmond Fire Department investigated an incident involving a train near the Lee Bridge in downtown Richmond.

Someone called 911 saying a train car was leaking. Crews responded as a precautionary measure.

Hazmat teams checked out the rail car and found a minor gas leak from a valve on a rail car, a Richmond Fire spokesperson said. Crews were able to close valve and nothing was found spilled on the ground.

Both the Lee Bridge and the pedestrian bridge to Belle Isle have since reopened after both were closed due to the investigation, Richmond Police advised.
