Police ID woman killed in fatal Dinwiddie County crash

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. --Virginia State Police have identified the woman killed in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Dinwiddie County Friday afternoon.

Police said the crash happened around 3:15 p.m. at Route 460 and Courthouse Road.

“A 2010 Dodge Caliber was traveling north on Route 627 when it pulled into the path of 2004 Nissan Armanda traveling west on Route 460, causing the Nissan to overturn and ejecting the driver of the 2010 Dodge,” said Virginia State Police Sgt. Stephen Vick.

The driver of the Dodge, Kimberly D. Cook 45, of Church Road, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 15-year-old female passenger was transported via Med-Flight to VCU Medical Center with serious life-threatening injuries.

The female driver of the Nissan and a male passenger were transported to Southside Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries; both were wearing seatbelts.

All lanes on Route 460 westbound near Courthouse Road are closed due to the crash.Drivers are encouraged to use Cox Rd. until further notice.
