CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va.-- The mother of missing 16-year-old Jacob Harris posted on social media that her son is safe and with police Sunday morning.

Police said that Harris was located at the Village of Midlothian, safe and unharmed, at approximately 10:41 a.m.

Harris, of Paget Court in Chesterfield, was last seen walking near the Midlothian campus of John Tyler Community College Saturday, January 7, at about 8:45 a.m., according to police.

Sightings were also reported in the nearby  Queensmill and Walton Park neighborhoods.

"Jacob has been found!" the boy's mother, Leslie Johnson, posted on Facebook around 10:50 a.m. "I will be posting an emotional thank you in a few, but right now I have to go hug my son!"

Earlier Leslie posted on Facebook Saturday that her son was wearing tennis shoes and "could be confused with it being so cold now and being a diabetic with no insulin."

The Chesterfield Police Department would like to thank all of the area community members and businesses who called or contacted the police with information concerning Harris as it was very useful in helping them locate him.
