RICHMOND, Va. – A Richmond man is behind bars after being arrested for a gun crime at a Richmond traffic stop.
According to federal court documents, Nehemyah Penn was under surveillance by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Crime insider sources say Penn purchased an AR15 rifle from Southern Gun World in Chesterfield County. Those sources say Penn gave the gun dealer an address that he was banned from in the Midlothian village apartments.
The feds along with help from Richmond Police made a traffic stop on Penn where they discovered he had already taken the AR-15 out of the box and had it on his front seat.
The federal government has not officially announced Penn’s charges, only saying he’s being charged with a gun crime.
Penn is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon. Crime insider sources say we will learn more details on this case during the court hearing.
