RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man was fatally shot in the city’s Northside Monday night.
Police say around 9:30 p.m. they received multiple calls for shots fired in the 3100 block of Carolina Avenue. When officer arrived on scene, they found a man dead on the sidewalk with at least one gunshot wound.
Police said they are in the early stages of their investigation and have no information about a possible suspect at this time.
Richmond Police confirmed Monday's homicide is the city's 61st of the year.
