Civilian burned after house catches fire in Randolph neighborhood

RICHMOND, Va. --- A civilian is in the hospital being treated for burns they sustained in a house fire that occurred in the city's Randolph neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Crews responded to reports of a house fire in the 1300 block of Idlewood Avenue around 4:15 am.

Firefighters spent more than an hour battling the flames.

Officials are still waiting on an investigative report at this time, but say that one civilian was transported to VCU Medical Center with burns to their hands and face.
