PETERSBURG, Va. — A Walgreens in Petersburg was robbed on Dec. 6, 2016. Petersburg Police said a man entered the Walgreens in the 3200 block of S. Crater Road and demanded narcotic pills from the pharmacy.
Police describe the suspect as approximately 5’8,” with a patchy, strawberry-blonde beard. He had on a green, zip-up hooded sweatshirt, burgundy and light color knit hat with fuzzy ball on top, and blue jeans.
Law enforcement sources told CBS 6 they believe this recent robbery is connected to another Walgreens robbery that took place in Colonial Heights on Nov. 18.
That night, a suspect walked into the Walgreens in the 3200 block of Boulevard around 11:15 p.m. and demanded medication at gunpoint. He possibly left the area in a dark sedan that was parked nearby in the lot at Virginia Commonwealth Bank at 3209 Boulevard.
The suspect descriptions are very similar, and both departments are working together to investigate the crimes.
