HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Do you have one of the best Christmas light displays in town? If so, Nikki-Dee Ray and CBS 6 wants to see them and show them off on television.

The week’s winners of the CBS 6 Let it Glow contest is Thompson family in Glen Allen. The family's “Christmas on Wendhurst” light display is located in the 9700 block of Wendhurst Drive.

The winning display may look familiar to CBS 6 viewers as Nikki-Dee Ray shot a commercial at the home for this year's Let it Glow contest.

Al and Esther Thompson say everything in the light display, which features 1,237 decorations and 170,655 lights, was made by hand.

“Everything’s homemade and every piece, we actually paint each light by hand with glass paint,” said Al.

The Glen Allen couple is also going to be recognized on a national level.

Will be on the Great Christmas Light Fight on Monday, December 12. The winner of that competition will receive $50,000.

Some of the thousands of decorations and lights pay tribute to several U.S. military veterans.

“We have several veterans on this arch and I’m a veteran also it’s a big day today,” said Al. “I was in the Navy, so Pearl Harbor is a big day.”
