RICHMOND, Va. -- Second Baptist Church has completed construction on a new children's ministry building.
Hundreds of parishioners packed the new 28,000 square-foot building Sunday.
The new space features colorful classrooms with LCD monitors, a garden and a playground.
But the new building will not be only be used for worship, it will be a learning center in the new year.
“God's gift of this building to our church is way beyond our use,” Craig Sherouse, Second Baptist Church’s senior pastor, said. “This is a community building. We have a wonderful weekday pre-school, we hope to begin after school care. We have upward many other things for the community. So we offer thanks to God for what this is going to do for our community.”
Nearly 2,000 people attended the dedication.
