CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Days after announcing their plan for a Chippenham Parkway crackdown, police have released the results of the first phase of the multi-agency operation.

“This primary roadway that traverses Chesterfield, Richmond and Henrico is often the subject of complaints from community members about speeding and aggressive driving,” said a Chesterfield Police spokesperson. “On Wednesday, November 30th, police officers and troopers worked together to actively address this problem.”

The aggressive driving enforcement operation resulted in stopping a total of 143 vehicles from Parham Rd. to Interstate 95.

In total, 150 summonses were issued for a variety of traffic related offenses. Additionally, two fugitives were apprehended and five narcotic related arrests were made.

The multi-agency operation is a regional effort on Chippenham Parkway in the hopes to combat aggressive driving, speeding, and following too closely.

The Chesterfield County Police Department, Richmond City Police Department, Henrico County Division of Police, and the Virginia State Police collaborated for the operation.

Police said Wednesday’s operation was the first of many on the parkway.
