Police ID man killed in single-vehicle crash in Louisa County

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. – State Police have identified the man killed in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Louisa County Tuesday evening.

Investigators say the crash happened at the intersection on Fredericks Hall Rd. and Rising Sun Rd. around 6:35 p.m.

“A 1998 Oldsmobile was travelling east on Route 618 (Fredericks Hall Road) when it ran off the road to the right, overcorrected left running off the road and striking a tree,” said State Police spokesman Steve Vick.

The victim has been identified as Kyle M. Holmes, 25, of Louisa. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police confirm Holmes was the only occupant in the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Speed and alcohol are considered factors in the crash which remains under investigation.
