HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — A website has been established to help raise money for the children of a Henrico mother found murdered inside her home a week ago.

Police say 35-year-old Katrina Banks‘ husband shot her in their Orion Court home last Monday.

Banks, who was a nurse, leaves behind an eight-year-old son and two-year-old daughter.

Friends have set up an account to raise money for their education.

Katrina Banks, a loving caring mother, nurse, and friend to many people whose lives she touched, was tragically taken from her children at the hands of her husband. She was a product of the Richmond area, graduated college at VCU, and worked at Retreat hospital since 2003, working her way up while touching and impacting so many lives. Her legacy, though cut short, touched so many lives. She leaves behind her son, 8, and daughter, 2, who will never know the extent of her love and sacrifices their mother went through for their well being. They can only know what her mother meant to others, and the joy she had in watching them grow. This fund is to help take care of their educational needs that their mother would have wanted them to have. Any amount towards this goal is appreciated.
