RICHMOND, Va. — Meet Taylor who is a very sweet, kind teenager and is working on developing her skills of communication and building good relationships.

She has lots of resilience and is able to advocate for herself.

Taylor is young person who loves to read, watch movies, play video games and listen to music.

She is beginning to take interest in her future and giving lots of thought to a career.

Transitioning to a new placement will take time for Taylor, as she will have to build up a level of trust with the new adults.

She has been disappointed before, so she is not very quick to form an attachment.

This young person has maintained communications with paternal siblings and would like to continue these relationships.

She is ready for an adult to commit to her with the understanding that the relationship will not happen overnight!

In Virginia, we have hundreds of children who are ready for foster to adoption. In other words, these children are ready to find their permanent and loving forever families. As Connecting Hearts -The Deborah J Johnston Foundation celebrates National Adoption Month, our “30 Kids in 30 Days” initiative is to bring awareness to 30 kids who are available for forever homes, but also to shed light on the other 830 children who may not be seen. Our kids are all ages and races, they were put in foster care due to no fault of their own.
