One arrest made after fight during George Wythe High pep rally

RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond Police have made one arrest after a fight between multiple students at George Wythe High School Friday morning.

Investigators would not provide details about the fight but says their investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may be made in relation to the incident.

Students tell CBS 6 the fight happened during a school pep rally Friday morning. A teacher says students were pepper sprayed to break up the fight.

There is no word if any students were injured during the altercation or what charged the teen who was arrested is facing.

CBS 6 reached out to Richmond Public Schools who sent us a statement that read:

“The Richmond Police Department is investigating this incident and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with district policies. All students are expected to demonstrate appropriate behavior as outlined in the Richmond Public Schools Student Code of Responsible Ethics (S.C.O.R.E.) Handbook. As always, the safety of our students is important and we encourage parents to review the S.C.O.R.E. handbook with their children.”
