RICHMOND, Va. — If Richmond mayor-elect Levar Stoney thought he was above the law following his somewhat surprising Election Day win, a Richmond Parking Enforcement Officer helped bring the 35-year-old future mayor back down to Earth.

Stoney got a ticket Wednesday while parked outside a Grace Street restaurant.

The mayor-elect tweeted about his misfortune.

Some of Stoney’s 5,600 Twitter followers then had some fun at the mayor-elect’s expense.

A Stoney spokesman said the mayor-elect intended to pay the ticket soon.

Current Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones has a security detail which has included a driver to city events.

A Stoney spokesperson said, at this point, Mayor-elect Stoney had no plans to keep that security detail.
