Colonial Heights gunman charged in gas station crime

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. — Police arrested a Colonial Heights man accused in a November 12 crime at the Sunoco Gas Station on Temple Avenue near I-95.

Police were called to the gas station at about 11:07 p.m. for an armed robbery.

“The suspect displayed a handgun and left the area after taking money from the business,” a Colonial Heights Police spokesperson said.

Two days later, Colonial Heights investigators identified and arrested John B. Morrison IV in connection to the crime.

“Morrison has been charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, possess a firearm after being a convicted felon, abduction, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, grand larceny, and wearing a mask in public,” the police spokesperson said. “Morrison is being held in Riverside Regional Jail without bond.”
