I-64 gunman opens fire on people in Lexus

HAMPTON, Va. — Virginia State Police have asked for help finding the person who opened fire on a car traveling along Interstate 64.

The shooting was reported at about 1 a.m. Sunday on I-64 east at Pine Chapel Road in Hampton.

“A 2005 Lexus was traveling on I-64 east bound when a dark/burgundy vehicle pulled along the driver’s side and fired at the vehicle. It was determined that the vehicle had been shot multiple times,” according to a Virginia State Police spokesperson. “The adult male driver of the Lexus and two adult male passengers were transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, one with life threatening injuries. A fourth passenger was not injured.”

Anyone who may have seen the shooting was asked to call Virginia State Police at 757-424-6800 or #77 on a cell phone.
