FORT LEE, Va. – Fort Lee soldiers deployed in the southwest Asia for six months were welcomed home Sunday night.

The soldiers from two of the Army`s 111th Quartermaster Company said they are glad to be back on U.S. soil.

Lt. Philip Brown said his daughter was just two months old when he left. Now she is eight months old.

“I was this close to crying, I'm not going to lie. It’s one of those things that kind of kept me going throughout the deployment,” Brown said. “Finally getting to hold her, it was awesome.”

The troops will now get to stay home a little longer since reserves units will be going back overseas in their place.
