How chilly it will feel at start of Richmond Marathon

RICHMOND, Va. --  A cold front moving through the Commonwealth late Friday will bring a much cooler air mass into the area for the weekend.

Temperatures around daybreak Saturday will be in the mid to upper 30s in the metro, with some outlying areas around freezing.

For the marathon, half marathon and 8k races, temperatures will start in the upper 30s.  There will be a slight breeze blowing, adding an additional wind chill.  Temperatures will be near 50° at noon.

Afternoon highs will be in the low and mid 50s, which will be about ten degrees below normal.  Low temperatures Saturday night into Sunday will drop into the 20s and lower 30s, making it the coldest morning of autumn so far for many cities.
