HANOVER, Va. – A man who officers said stole a vehicle and seven pure bred Rottweilers is now in custody in Maryland, according to Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
Nelson Leroy Battle, 32, of Bel Alton, Maryland was wanted by the Sheriff’s Office for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Larceny of an Animal.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Oct. 16, 2016, when the victim reported that her 1998 blue Ford Ranger, bearing Virginia Farm Use tag F82725, was stolen.
Also stolen were seven pure bred Rottweilers, four puppies and three adults.
Battle was arrested Nov. 10, 2016, in Charles County, Maryland and is currently awaiting extradition.
