The Compassion Experience – at West End Assembly of God, 401 North Parham Road, Richmond.

A free event that features an interactive journey through the true stories of children living in developing countries like the Philippines, Kenya, Uganda and the Dominican Republic. More than 2,000 square feet of interactive exhibit space, visitors will step inside homes, markets and schools – without getting on a plane. Each child’s story starts in poverty but ends in hope. Urbanna Oyster Festival

Friday: 10 am – 7 pm & Saturday: 9 am – 5 pm. Over fifty vendors, Oysters, raw, roasted, friends, smoked, in fritters or in a stew, oyster shucking contest and crafts and artwork available throughout the town and within Festival Village. Oysters, BBQ, Battersea!

Saturday,1 pm to 4 pm

Battersea is located at 1289 Upper Appomattox Street in Petersburg, Oysters, Barbecue……Battersea, a fundraiser to benefit the Battersea Foundation, their mission to preserve the Historic Battersea. The afternoon event will feature Virginia Oysters, Barbecue and fixings, Texas brownies, ginger cookies, beer & wine and Classic British Cars displayed on the lawn of Battersea. Festival of the Written Word

CCPL will host the Festival of the Written Word—a celebration of books, reading and writing with 18 local authors, including New York Times bestselling author Kristen Green. The free, family-friendly event will include panel discussions, workshops, food, music and craft activities.

Boulevard Untapped – presented by the City of Richmond DPU

Saturday,  12 – 6 pm at The Diamond! Live music, delicious food, and a chance to sample seasonal brews not release yet to the public.
