STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. – Crime Solvers has increased their reward for information about the male suspect in a Monday morning sexual assault and attack in Stafford County.
The two-hour attack happened Monday morning between 2:45 to 3:15 along Kings Highway (Route 3), according to investigators.
It started when the man hit the woman’s car and forced her off the road.
“After the accident, the unknown male suspect forcibly removed the victim from her vehicle and dragged her into a ditch off the roadway where he sexually assaulted her over a two hour period,” a Stafford County Sheriff’s spokesperson said.
Once the suspect drove away, the victim made it back to her vehicle and called 911.
Investigators say they have received approximately 100 leads in the case. Friday the Crime Solvers reward was increased from $1,000 to $2,500.
“We ask the public to look closely, again, at the composite drawing of the suspect and the photo of the shirt he left behind at the scene,” the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “Someone may have seen him on Sunday evening, October 30 or early Monday morning.”
The shirt is a white, orange and blue plaid “American Living” shirt, size L.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male approximately 30 years old. He was described to be 5’8” to 5’9” and 170 to 180 pounds with black hair and a short black beard.
He was seen wearing light colored blue jeans and a sleeveless white tank top under the orange, blue and white plaid long sleeved shirt.
He spoke Spanish and broken English.
The suspect vehicle was described as a dark colored SUV.
The SUV would have been parked on the right hand side of the State Route 3 (Eastbound) between the cross streets of Forest Lane Road and Michael Scott Lane (water treatment plant) between the hours of 2:30 a.m. – 5:00 a.m.
The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging the public to exercise caution and be aware of surroundings while traveling or stopped on dimly lit or lesser-traveled roadways.
“If you have to stop or become stranded, call the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number and report your location. The phone number is 540-658-4400 and is answered 24 hours a day. A deputy could then be dispatched, at your request,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
