CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- CBS 6 Gives had a special surprise for a woman battling stage 4 breast cancer on the final day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
With the help of Union Bank and Trust, CBS 6 gave animal lover Melynda Hancock a rare, behind-the -scenes look at the Metro Richmond Zoo. And she got access to one exhibit in particular that brought her to tears.

Zoo Director Jim Andelin said he frequently gets these types of requests, but said there was something about Melynda’s story that compelled him to do it for the first time.
