HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- The mother and sister of Ava Tucker say the 26-year-old didn't have a confrontational bone in her body.

They were devastated Thursday night, knowing the woman who sits inside the Henrico Jail, charged with her murder, is someone they once welcomed into their family with open arms.

"You took a beautiful person, a beautiful soul. How could you? But, it's not for us to judge. You have to deal with God and live with this the rest of your life,” said Ava's sister Latesha Tucker to Sheena Wilson.

Wilson, 32, is accused of killing her ex-girlfriend early Thursday morning. Ava's mom, Tabitha Tucker-Hong, says her youngest daughter was stabbed to death.

"My baby is non-confrontational, she keeps her nails clean, has her hair done,” said Tucker-Hong. “She’s always looking to make you laugh and smile."

Police were called to the Viviana Hall townhouse in Sandston after sources say Wilson walked into the Richmond Police Department’s First Precinct covered in blood and confessed to the killing.

"Her job called this morning and said Ava didn't show up for work," said Tucker-Hong.  She said Ava was known for her drive, her work ethic, so she knew something was wrong with her daughter.

She was already on the way to her East End home from South Hill when she got the tragic news.

Tucker-Hong says Wilson and Ava decided to split months ago after Ava had multiple dreams of interacting with her father, who died of cancer nine years ago.

"She said, ‘Mom, dad has been coming to see me. I need to make changes and they need to be for me.’ She said she didn't want to focus on a relationship."

In an eerie twist, Latesha says she and Ava visited their dad’s gravesite just last week.

Latesha said Ava said to her, “If I die before mom, I want to be buried next to dad.”

The family is now working on making that happen.
