Police ID man killed in Richmond street

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police have identified the victim in what is now being declared Richmond's 52nd homicide of the year.

Officers responded to the 3300 block of Lawson Street in the Swansboro West neighborhood at approximately 6:38 a.m. for a report of a person down. Upon arrival, they located 35-year-old Naquan R. Bentley outside.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Detectives are actively working all available leads in the case and do not believe that the incident was a random act.
