RICHMOND, Va. — Police are investigating a confrontation between two club patrons that resulted in one being shot near the campus of VCU early Saturday morning.
Richmond and VCU Police received the report of an aggravated assault in the 1200 block of West Marshall Street at approximately 2:15 a.m. Police say that the incident occurred when a patron exiting a nearby night club was followed by another. Once the first patron reached Marshall Street, the second patron opened fire with a handgun.
The victim was struck in the leg and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is being described as a black male approximately 5 feet 7 inches with a thin build wearing a black hoodie. He was last seen running south on North Harrison Street from West Marshall Street.
The investigation is ongoing.
