RICHMOND, Va. – Kroger is holding a hiring event Saturday to fill more than 200 available positions in the Richmond area this weekend.

As a part of a two day hiring event, the grocery store held the first round of interviews on Thursday. The second day of the hiring event will be held Saturday, October 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The job interviews will be held at the Kroger Training Center located at 2235 Staples Mill Road.

Interested candidates do not need to make an appointment, as they can arrive at their convenience to speak with a Kroger hiring official.

“We decided to hold this event to help those who will be affected by upcoming grocery store layoffs in Richmond,” said Allison McGee, spokesperson for Kroger Mid-Atlantic. “People will be looking for employment and we’re in a position to solve that problem they’re facing. On top of that, we offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits with the opportunity to advance in one of America’s largest companies.”

Kroger is hiring for all Richmond-area Kroger stores. Available positions include, cashiers, baggers, and positions in deli, grocery, bakery, meat department and pharmacy.

Officials would like all interested candidates to complete an online application and assessment before attending the hiring event. Applicants should also be prepared with an email address, employment history and education information.

Those interested should apply online at jobs.kroger.com.
