HAMPTON, Va. — Police are investigating a fatal shooting at the Hampton Harbor Apartments, on Mariners Cove Road, in Hampton, Virginia.

Police were called to the apartment complex near Hampton University at about 9:42 p.m. Wednesday.

“Upon arrival, officers located three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced deceased on scene by the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue,” a Hampton Police spokesperson said. “The other two male victims were transported to local hospitals to be treated for what are now considered non-life threatening injuries.”

Police called the shooting an “isolated incident.”

“The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation and there is no suspect information to disseminate at this time,” the police spokesperson continued. “The identification of the deceased will be withheld until the next-of-kin has been notified.”

Hampton University Police helped in the investigation.

While the apartment complex is located less than a mile from the campus of Hampton University, Hampton University told WAVY the shooting victim was not a student.
