Man wounded in Gilpin Court shooting

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are investigating after a man was shot in the Gilpin Court public housing neighborhood in Richmond Sunday night.

Richmond police said random gunfire calls started to come in around 7:45 p.m. for the 1100 block of St. John Street.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries police called not life-threatening.
