Woman wounded in Petersburg drive-by shooting

PETERSBURG, Va. – A woman has been transported to the hospital after being shot during a drive-by shooting in Petersburg Friday night.

Investigators said they received a call for a shooting at 8:45 p.m. in the 200 block of S. Dunlop St. When officers arrived to the scene they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the woman was shot during a drive-by shooting. There is no word on a suspect or vehicle involved at this time.

The shooting is still under investigation.
