GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. — An orthopedic surgeon who served two years as the training camp physician for the Washington Redskins has listed his riverfront home for $2.39 million.

The 7,500-square-foot mansion at 301 Riverside Court, on a bluff just downriver from the Route 288 bridge, was put on the market Oct. 6. Goochland property records list the owner as Geoffrey B. Higgs, who purchased it in 2008 for $1.69 million.

Higgs was most recently with Advanced Orthopedics, where he worked as an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist. He left the practice in June and is now out-of-state, according to the company.

Joyner Fine Properties’ Susan Stynes has the listing. She would not say where Higgs is relocating.

Active with professional sports teams and leagues, Higgs served two years as the training camp physician for the Washington Redskins, which has held its camp in Richmond since 2013. He has also served as team physician for the New England Patriots, Major League Soccer’s New England Revolution, the Boston Bruins ice hockey team and Harvard University, where he went to medical school.
