PETERSBURG, Va. --Neighbors say they have been sounding the alarm for months about a water leak along the intersection of Halifax and Mistletoe in Petersburg.
Susie Kemp said she reported the problem to the city, but said nothing was done. So for months she has listened as cars hit the water covered man-hole cover.

Drivers tell CBS 6, they avoid the area, especially if they've just had their car washed.
CBS 6 Problem Solvers looked into the situation and quickly learned there are actually two water issues going on at the same time.
First, city officials explained the water coming up through the man-hole cover is due to a bad valve.
Second, the sheets of water flowing down Halifax Street at different times is due to a temporary pump being used to drain the new Family Dollar storm water run off storage tank.
As a result, a new permanent pump is expected to be installed and will send water directly into underground pipes and the valve is also in the process of being replaced.
Both projects are expected to be completed in the next couple of weeks.
