RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia Commonwealth University dealt with a widespread power outage today that led classes in affected buildings to be cancelled.
Other Dominion customers were affected by the outage, but VCU lost power in multiple buildings. Hundreds of students left campus at once around 5:30 p.m. after professors had to cancel classes mid-session.
Stoplights, streetlights and crosswalks also went out near campus. Power began coming back on around 6 p.m.
