VCU Police seeking suspects who punched man in eye and the face

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police are looking for two suspects after an early morning aggravated assault Saturday near VCU.

It happened at 12:15 a.m. in the 100 block of south Cherry Street when the victim said he approached two men who were trespassing on private property.

He told police that one trespasser punched him in the eye and the other hit him in the face.

The victim was transported to Retreat Hospital with a laceration above his right eye.

Both of the attackers apparently fled.

The first suspect was described a black male subject, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt.

The victim was unable to describe the second suspect.
