Mathews woman accused of fatally stabbing husband

MATHEWS COUNTY, Va. – A woman has been arrested for stabbing her husband to death, according to the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies received a call just after 9 p.m. Friday about a stabbing on Shark Drive, WTKR reported.

When deputies arrived, they found 58-year-old Gary Flowers with at least one stab wound.

Flowers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies detained the victim’s wife, Monique Flowers. She was later arrested and charged with murder and unlawfully stab, cut or wound in the commission of a felony.

Flowers is being held without bond at the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center.
