RICHMOND, Va. -- The man accused of breaking into several Richmond homes and either touching or exposing himself to women he encountered was arrested.

Saevone Brown, 22, of the 500 block of Rossmore Drive, was charged with sexual battery, trespassing, and two counts of breaking and entering.

Brown is believed to be linked to at least a half a dozen break-ins beginning August 29.

One woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, said she was a victim in a September 11 break-in. What she initially thought were her cats ruffling the blinds, was actually an intruder inside her St. Ann’s Drive home.

"I started talking to my cats… then he appeared," she said. "He seemed huge to me. He was tall and he had on all black."

She said the man groped her, then quickly fled through a back door after she started to yell and scream.

All of the incidents took place between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. in the Ashley Park, Bramblewood Estates, and St. John’s Wood neighborhoods off of Jahnke Road.

Detectives said the intruder entered homes through unlocked doors.

Richmond resident Christine McDuffie was relieved by the arrest. She lives only a few doors down from one of the alleged incidents.

“I'm so happy that possibly he was caught and I'm hoping it is him and he needs some help,” said McDuffie.

Police say a neighbor’s call about a suspicious man is what led them to Brown.

Brown appeared before a judge in Richmond's Manchester Court Friday morning.  Additional charges are expected, police said.

Brown was arrested in July 2015 for peeping into windows at a West End apartment complex.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Major Crimes Detective Janet Mills at 804 646-6734 or Detective Greg Russell at (804) 646-7715. Citizens can also call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip.
